Welcome To The Columbia Missouri Kennel Club
~ OUR PHILOSOPHY ~
To provide educational support and information to dog lovers of all ages.
We, the members of the Columbia Missouri Kennel Club, along with the American Kennel Club, are very concerned with the promotion and maintenance of humane living conditions of all dogs.
The Columbia MO Kennel Club (CMKC) supports the Animal Care Facilities Act. This existing Missouri legislation includes regulations dictating, not only the physical safety and health of dogs, but also their social/emotional well-being. The CMKC also strongly supports Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Operation Bark Alert, which provides the public with the means to report animals that are kept in poor living and/or health conditions.
The Columbia Missouri Kennel Club was formed by a group of Dog Fanciers in the Columbia, Missouri area. The Club was originally licensed through the American Kennel Club (AKC) until 2008. At that time, Club members began the process to become an AKC Member Club. We are proud to say that we have been accepted into the AKC and our Delegate, Bob Brown, has begun attending the quarterly AKC meetings.
Our Annual Dog Show, generally held on the second weekend in March every year, (Click on the Coming Events Schedule and Seasonal Reminder link for dates) would not be a success without our volunteers and those businesses in the community who support us with trophy donations.
We meet every 4th Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. (except July, November and December) in the small building next to the Columbia Canine Sports Center located at 4506 Interstate 70 Drive, Southeast, Columbia, MO.
Any meeting time changes due to scheduling conflicts will be noted on the "Coming Events/Seasonal Reminder" page. Please check this section each month before making plans to attend.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
